Coffee Cupping at Ristretto

It was 1:30 pm on a Friday afternoon, and we were ready for some coffee cupping at Ristretto…

There were some very interesting flavours in today’s session, with notable standouts including a blend that was light bodied and refreshing with a strong strawberry flavour, another that had a distinct popcorn flavour, and one that had hints of dark chocolate ganache. I love going to coffee cupping sessions like these because you learn to appreciate the taste of different coffee roasts/blends, and the way to describe them, and identify the regions from which they came.

After the cupping I purchased Alba’s Holiday Blend for my Aeropress. The beans have origins in Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Colombia, and have a caramel, toasty, sweet, and crisp flavour.
